Student, Family and Human Services program, Portland Community College, Portland, OR
Kristine Stanik is a student in the Family and Human Services program at Portland Community College. As a mid-life returning student, she is grateful for the multiple education pathways that PCC offers. From 1999 to 2003, she worked on the editorial team at the Chicago-based Family Resource Coalition of America / Family Support America, a former national network of family resource and support programs and early partner of NPEN. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her partner, teenager, dog, and cat. She learns a lot about life by being a parent — including how to cross bridges in Minecraft without falling off.
