Greg David


Fatherhood Coordinator, Healthy Start Program, Lafayette, LA

Greg David was born in New Orleans, Louisiana as a “Charity Baby” and the only child of his mom and dad, joining a blended family of three brothers and three sisters. He is a United States Air Force Veteran who served through the First Gulf War where he first began volunteering with youth and families. There, he facilitated a Red Cross program called “Living Is for Everyone” (LIFE), a suicide prevention program. He then returned home to complete his education at Southern University Baton Rouge in Social Work with Public Relations coursework. He has held various positions in communities in which he has lived: He created a Non-Profit Agency (PEARS) that administers evidenced-based alcohol prevention programs to local and regional schools at no cost through Hazelden Publishing. There, he worked as a Master Trainer. He is proud of his 25+ years of experience in services coordination, program facilitation, and coalition building. His passion is to be in service through civic and social organizations for his communities, and family and friends. He is a husband and father of a blended family with two daughters and three sons. Healthy families is something he lives every day and makes a priority in his own life. He is also a member of numerous local and regional coalitions in Acadiana. Greg likes to think of himself as an all-around good guy that if he knows it, he will share it, and his friends and family would agree. He is a freelance photographer and loans his skills for local agencies and community events at no cost. He is also an excellent cook and loves putting on large country feasts for everyone.
