Work and education related to parenting education:
- Managed and grew the parent education program for a large Southern California K- 12 school district
- Designed, implemented, and managed a family resource center for high-risk families, with parent education as its central theme, for an entire public school district
- Provided leadership for CA Parent Educators, State Department of Education
- Designed activity-based parent education programs for families of high-risk elementary and secondary students
- Designed and co-authored a nationally replicated parent education model, Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior
- Designed and delivered a facilitator training program for parent educators interested in supporting families of high-risk adolescents, Parent Project®
- MS in Education with emphasis on parent education
Family life:
Married to Ken for 29 years; our daughter Michelle also lives close by in Southern CA. I love to read, ride horses, help families, travel, and renovate old houses.
Why NPEN is important:
It is my experience that establishing connections with others who share a passion for children and their families is critical to all of our wellbeing. Because many parent educators often work without the direct support of other parent educators, NPEN positively fills that void.
